Stable Close Equine Practice is a 100% horse practice owned by two experienced
equine vets, Malcolm Morley and Alex David. We are assisted by Alix Jackson
and Peter Curl.
Stable Close Equine Practice was originally part of Stable
Close Veterinary Clinic in Winchester until November 2003 when we became
a separate practice carrying out only equine work from Bridgets Farm in Martyr
Worthy.
In the office we are assisted by Tessa Driscoll, Lucy Walkington and Sue Grace.
They all have a great deal of experience in keeping an equine practice running
smoothly and many of you agree that they are an essential part of our team.
The Veterinary Team
Alex Sergeant BVSc MRCVS
Alex qualified from the University of Bristol in 1996. She was initially employed
at Stable Close Veterinary Clinic where her work became predominantly equine.
In 2001 she joined Peter Scott-Dunn’s equine practice in Berkshire where
a large proportion of her work involved lameness and internal medicine investigations.
Alex has been a partner in Stable Close Equine practice since 2003. She is also
a qualified BHS assistant instructor and has competed at British Eventing one
day and three day events up to intermediate level. Alex became Mrs Sergeant in July 2010 when she married Rob, an officer in the Coldstream Guards.
Malcolm Morley BVSc MRCVS
Malcolm qualified from the University of Bristol in 1993. He joined the Liphook
Equine Hospital in Hampshire for 2 years before spending 12 months in Australia
and then 6 months in Lambourn. He rejoined the Liphook Equine Hospital in 1996
and worked there until 2003 when he became a partner at Stable Close Equine Practice.
Malcolm is married to Poppy, a hospital doctor, and they have three young children.
He is a council member of the
British
Equine Veterinary Association.
Lucy Stamp BSc MA VetMB MRCVS
Lucy Stamp qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2002 having previously
obtained a Zoology degree at the University of Bristol. She completed an internship
at the Liphook Equine Hospital in 2005 and has since worked in specialist horse
practices in Leicestershire and Lambourn. She is particularly interested in sports
horse medicine and poor performance. Outside work she enjoys keelboat racing and other outdoor sports. She has evented and hunted her own horse
Hebe who is currently expecting a foal in 2011.
Jonathan Moore BVSc MRCVS
Jonathan qualified from the University of Bristol in 2003. After a very brief
spell in small animal practice he has worked in 100% equine practice in Oxfordshire,
New Zealand and the Liphook Equine Hospital. Jonathan first worked for us in 2007
before returning at the end of 2009. He has a wide range of professional interests
and is a very welcome addition to our team. Outside work he is a passionate snow
boarder and mountain biker.
Andrew Kennedy BVM&S MRCVS
Andrew is an experienced veterinary surgeon who has practiced in Winchester since
1967. We are delighted that he remains as a consultant to the equine practice.
Occasionally Andrew revisits cases he has known for a long time or covers emergencies.
He enjoys being "on duty" at several equestrian events in the south of England.
